NBA PRA props: one line for points, rebounds and assists

A PRA prop adds a player’s points, rebounds and assists into one total and asks whether it goes over or under a line, such as 34.5. Any mix of the three stats counts toward it.

Why bettors like PRA

A single stat line can fail on one cold night. If a guard scores only 18 but grabs 9 rebounds and hands out 11 assists, a PRA over can still win.

That smoothing works both ways. A PRA under needs all three stats to stay quiet, which is harder when the player is on the floor for many minutes.

Because the total is large, books set lines in half-point steps and small moves in minutes can swing it by several points.

What moves the total

Pace adds chances. A fast game with 104 possessions per team gives every player more shots, rebounds and passes than a slow one with 94.

Teammates matter. When a co-star sits, the remaining stars usually see more shots and more assists, so their PRA lines rise.

Point spreads matter too. A 14-point favorite may rest starters in the fourth quarter, which can cost a star 8 to 10 minutes.

Rules and settlement

The bet is usually void if the player does not play. Once he steps on the court, it stands even if he leaves early.

Overtime stats count at most books, which helps overs in close games. Stat corrections after the game are usually not used for settlement.

Some books also offer smaller combos, such as points plus rebounds or rebounds plus assists, which work the same way.

PRA

Pace
Possessions per game.
Per 36

Usage
Share of team plays used.

A worked example

A star forward has a PRA line of 39.5 at -110 over. He averages 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, a total of 40, in about 36 minutes.

He scores 22, grabs 11 rebounds and hands out 8 assists, for a total of 41. The over wins even though his points were low. A $11 bet returns $21.

If his team had won by 30 and he sat the last 10 minutes with 18, 7 and 5, his total of 30 would have lost the over by almost 10.

Common mistakes

Ignoring minutes
Fewer minutes, lower total.
Forgetting blowouts
Stars sit late.
Double counting

After the 90 seconds

Questions before and after you play

A 90-second guide cannot cover every table moment. Tap a group, then a question — answers are short paragraphs, not one-liners.

01Basics

What does PRA mean?

Points plus rebounds plus assists. The three stats are added into one total for the bet.

Do steals and blocks count?

No. Only points, rebounds and assists are part of a PRA total. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

Is PRA safer than a points prop?

It can be steadier, but the line is set to match, so it is not a free edge. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

02Rules

What if the player does not play?

The bet is usually void and the stake returned if he never enters the game. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

Does overtime count?

At most licensed sportsbooks overtime stats count. Check each book’s rules. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

Are stat corrections used?

Most books settle on the official box score at the end of the game. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

03Strategy

What matters most for PRA?

Minutes. A star who plays 38 minutes has far more chances than one held to 30. Rules differ between licensed sportsbooks, so read the house rules.

Why do lines jump on injury news?

When a teammate sits, the player gets more shots and passes, so the total rises.
