Who gets double-doubles

Centers and power forwards get most of them, because they score near the basket and grab many rebounds. A starting center who averages 18 points and 11 rebounds may reach it in 60% of games.

Pass-first point guards get them through points and assists. A guard who averages 20 points and 9 assists needs one good passing night to reach the mark.

Wings rarely reach 10 rebounds or 10 assists, so their yes prices are long. Steals and blocks almost never reach 10 in a game.

What moves the price

Minutes come first. A player expected to play 36 minutes has more time to reach both marks than one on a minutes limit.

Matchups matter for rebounds. Teams that miss many shots or play small give more rebound chances, while strong rebounding opponents take them away.

Blowouts hurt the yes side. If a starter sits the fourth quarter, he loses about 10 minutes of chances to reach his second 10.

Rules and settlement

The bet is usually void if the player does not play. Once he takes the floor, the bet stands even if he leaves early.

Overtime stats usually count. A player who reaches 10 rebounds in overtime wins the yes bet, so close games help.

Settlement uses the official box score. A triple-double counts as a double-double, so it wins a yes bet.

A worked example

A starting center averages 17 points and 11 rebounds. His double-double yes price is -180, which implies a 64.3% chance. The opponent is a poor rebounding team.

He plays 34 minutes and finishes with 14 points and 13 rebounds, so the yes bet wins. A $18 bet at -180 returns $28, a profit of $10.

If the game had been a blowout and he sat the fourth quarter with 14 points and 8 rebounds, the yes bet would lose even though he played well.

Common mistakes

Fewer minutes, fewer stats.
Overpaying for yes

Forgetting blowouts

After the 90 seconds

Questions before and after you play

A 90-second guide cannot cover every table moment. Tap a group, then a question — answers are short paragraphs, not one-liners.

01Basics

What is a double-double?

A game in which a player reaches 10 or more in two of five stats: points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks.

Does a triple-double count?

Yes. A triple-double includes a double-double, so it wins a yes bet on a double-double prop.

Can this bet push?

No. The player either reaches 10 in two stats or he does not, so there is no push.

02Rules

What if the player does not play?

The bet is usually void and the stake returned if the player never enters the game that day.

Does overtime count?

At most sportsbooks overtime stats count toward a double-double, but check each book’s house rules.

Which stats count?

Points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Turnovers and fouls do not count toward a double-double.

03Strategy

Who are the best yes candidates?

Starting centers and high-assist point guards, whose averages sit near or above 10 in two stats.

Why are yes prices short on some players?

Some big men reach a double-double in most games, so books price the yes side at heavy odds.
