In our casino state table (Oct 13, 2026): Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia are live. Maine is legal, not launched. Nevada allows licensed internet poker, not online casino games. That is seven live iGaming states, not fifty.
Why isn’t Maine counted as live?
The online casino status is legal, not launched: a statute without a live operator roster in our licence files. We do not upgrade a paper market to live because an ad says launch is soon.

Which states have legal online casino?
As of our October 13, 2026 check, online casino is live in 7 jurisdictions: Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, West Virginia. Every other state either has no law, has a law that has not launched yet, or limits play to a physical venue. Check the state regulator before you deposit, because launches and repeals happen mid-year.
How old do you have to be for online casino?
It depends on the state, not on the app. Of the 7 states where online casino is live in our October 13, 2026 check, 7 set 21 as the minimum age and 0 allow 18 or 19 (none). The operator must verify age and identity before the first real-money wager, so a younger player is refused at sign-up, not at cash-out.
Which state launched online casino first?
New Jersey opened regulated online casinos on November 26, 2013, under the Division of Gaming Enforcement. Delaware went live the same year. Pennsylvania followed in July 2019, Michigan in January 2021, Connecticut in October 2021.
