9/7 pay table
| Hand | Per coin | Five coins |
|---|---|---|
| Royal flush | 800 | 4,000 |
| Four aces + 2-4 | 800 | 4,000 |
| Four 2s-4s + A-4 | 400 | 2,000 |

| Four 2s-4s | 80 | 400 |
| Four 5s-Ks | 50 | 250 |
| Full house | 9 | 45 |
| Flush | 7 | 35 |
| Three of a kind | 2 | 10 |
Straight flush 50, straight 4, two pair 1, jacks or better 1.
How the pay table differs
Three of a kind pays 2 instead of 3. That cut moves a lot of money into the kicker quads at the top.
The royal flush pays 800 per coin with five coins. In this game, four aces with a 2, 3 or 4 kicker pays the same 4,000 coins.
Four 2s, 3s or 4s with an ace, 2, 3 or 4 kicker pays 400 per coin, twice as much as in Double Double Bonus.
Compare kicker games
| Hand | Double Double | Triple Double |
|---|---|---|
| Aces + kicker | 400 | 800 |
| 2s-4s + kicker | 160 | 400 |
| Three of a kind | 3 | 2 |
| Flush (best table) | 6 | 7 |
Per-coin pays on common full pay tables.
Strategy changes
Kickers are held more often here, since the kicker quads pay so much. Three aces plus a 2, 3 or 4 is held as four cards.
Some charts even hold a low kicker with a pair of aces, which would be a mistake in most other games.
Because trips pay so little, some low pairs are played differently too. Use a chart made for this game.

Swing and bankroll
A large share of the return comes from rare kicker quads. Long losing runs are common, even on the best table.
A five-coin quarter player bets $1.25 per hand and may play 600 hands an hour. A session bankroll of several hundred dollars can be gone fast.
Play only with money you can afford to lose. The return is long-run math, not a promise for one session.

Know before you sit
- Kicker
- Fifth card with quads.
- 9/7
- Full house 9, flush 7.
- Return
- Payback with best play.
- Trips
- Three of a kind.
A worked example
You play a 9/7 machine at $0.25 per coin with five coins, or $1.25 per hand. You are dealt A-A-A-2-9.
You hold the three aces and the 2 kicker and draw one card. If the fourth ace comes, you win 4,000 coins, or $1,000, the same as a royal.
Without the kicker, four aces would pay 800 coins, or $200. If you miss, three aces pay only 2 per coin, or $2.50. That is why the kicker hold is worth the risk here. In Jacks or Better, you would draw two cards instead.
Common mistakes
- Using Jacks strategy
- Holds differ.
- Ignoring the pay table
- Lower tables cost more.
- Under-funding
- Swings are huge.
- Short coining
- Royal pays less.
Finding a good machine
Full pay 9/7 machines are hard to find in most casinos. Lower tables, such as 9/6 or 8/5, return noticeably less with the same swing.
If you cannot find a good table, a milder game like Bonus Poker may offer a better return with smaller swings.
Use a players card either way. Slot club points and free play add a little to the return over time.
