Multi-hand video poker: one hold, many draws

In multi-hand video poker, you hold cards from one deal, and the game draws replacement cards for several hands, each from its own deck. Three, five, ten or even 100 hands play at once.

How it works

The game deals five cards to the top hand. You choose which to hold, and the same held cards appear in every hand. Each hand then draws from its own fresh deck.

Because each deck is separate, the same card can appear in several hands.

Cost per deal at max coins

GameAt 25 centsAt $1
Single hand$1.25$5
Triple Play$3.75$15
Five Play$6.25$25
Ten Play$12.50$50

Max coins are needed for the full royal flush pay.

Swings and bankroll

Total payback is the same, but money moves faster. A Ten Play quarter game bets $12.50 a deal, so a cold stretch costs more quickly than on a single hand.

Holding the same cards across hands also makes results linked.

Sequence

Playing multi-hand

  1. Step 01

    Pick a paytable

    9/6 Jacks if possible.

  2. Step 02

    Choose hands and coin size

    Keep total bet in budget.

  3. Step 03

    Bet max coins per hand

    For the full royal pay.

  4. Step 04

    Hold with normal strategy

    Same as one hand.

  5. Step 05

    Watch credits

    Swings are bigger.

Why play more hands

Multi-hand games let you see more results per deal and can make good draws exciting, such as four to a royal across ten hands.

If your budget is tight, a lower coin size with more hands can cost the same as one hand at a higher denomination.
