Draw no bet: a refund if the match is tied
Draw no bet is a two-way soccer market. You back one team to win, and if the match ends level your stake is refunded. You lose only if the other team wins, so the price is shorter than a plain win.

Draw no bet vs three-way odds (example match)
| Market | Home | Draw | Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1X2 (three-way) | 2.20 | 3.40 | 3.50 |
| Draw no bet | About 1.55 | Refund | About 2.47 |
| American DNB | About -182 | Refund | About +147 |
DNB prices from the formula win × (draw − 1) ÷ draw; real books vary.
How the price is set
Draw no bet is priced from the three-way market. One simple formula is win odds times (draw odds minus 1), divided by draw odds. With home at 2.20 and draw at 3.40, that gives 2.20 × 2.40 ÷ 3.40, about 1.55.
The away side uses the same sum: 3.50 × 2.40 ÷ 3.40, about 2.47. Books may shade these numbers, so compare the DNB price with what you could build yourself from the 1X2 odds.
In American odds, 1.55 is about -182 and 2.47 is about +147. At US sportsbooks you may find it listed as draw no bet, tie no bet or as a two-way moneyline with a push on a draw.
Building draw no bet yourself ($100 total)
| Bet | Stake | Odds | Return if it wins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home to win | $70.59 | 2.20 | $155.29 |
| Draw (cover) | $29.41 | 3.40 | $100.00 |
| Result: home win | — | — | $155.29, profit $55.29 |
| Result: draw | — | — | $100.00, stake back |
Our own sums; matches a DNB price of about 1.55.
Worked example
Say you like the home team but fear a draw. A $100 draw no bet at 1.55 returns $155 if home wins, gives back $100 on a draw and loses $100 if away wins. A plain $100 win bet at 2.20 would return $220 but lose on a draw too.
Which is better depends on how often you expect a draw. In many top soccer leagues roughly a quarter of matches end level. If you think this match is likely to be tight, the refund is worth more.
Draw no bet is the same as an Asian handicap of 0, sometimes written as level ball or pick. A half-goal handicap at -0.5 is just the plain win, and +0.5 is the team winning or drawing.

Rules and where it is used
Most soccer markets, including draw no bet, are settled on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties in cup ties do not count unless the market says so, such as a to-qualify bet.
In a parlay, a refunded draw no bet leg is usually removed, and the ticket is repriced on the remaining legs, just like a push in other sports.
The same idea appears in other sports with draws, such as NFL ties, hockey in regulation and cricket. Sportsbooks may call it tie no bet there.
