How online lottery works
In a live iLottery state you buy from the lottery’s own site or app while you are in that state. The ticket is still a lottery ticket — not a casino game and not a courier purchase.

eInstant / Fast Play
Digital instant or fast-play products some lotteries sell online. Still lottery, not iGaming.
Geofence
You must be in the lottery’s state. Same idea as sports/iGaming presence.

Questions before and after you play
A 90-second guide cannot cover every table moment. Tap a group, then a question — answers are short paragraphs, not one-liners.
01Mechanics
How does buying lottery tickets online work?
In a live iLottery state you use the lottery’s own website or app, prove you are in that state, and buy the draw or digital instant products that lottery actually offers. It is not a casino client and not a courier. Seventeen jurisdictions are live in our matrix (Oct 13, 2026).
How do I know the site is the real lottery?
Match the official hostname (Pennsylvania: palottery.pa.gov in our licence file). A logo on a third-party domain is not the lottery. Catalogue rows: /en/online/{state}/lottery/.
02Advice
Is this page legal advice?
No. It describes the official iLottery stack. For a purchase dispute, use that lottery’s support or ask counsel.
